The gifted singer has been patiently waiting for his time to come in the music industry. He’s been on his music journey since a young age doing everything that would align with his success in the future.

We got a chance to go over a few memorable moments in Stan Genius’ career. Check it out.

If a close friend had to describe you, what would they say about you?

They would probably say I’m very silly and goofy probably funny lol. A cool person and talented

At the age of 7 you joined a local jazz band, what was your experience like?

I actually was the founder and leader of the jazz band. The experience was great for leadership purposes and the opportunity to play music in front of people regularly. We actually really started getting booked for big festivals and TV events.

When did you know that you wanted to pursue music as a career?

Ever since I was really little, but I didn’t know how. As I got older my goals continued to grow the more I learned.

Troy Taylor played a significant role in your career. How has he shaped your career over the years?

Troy has been an amazing mentor to me and he gave me the opportunity to watch and learn at 12. He has molded me into being a self-sufficient artist in the studio.

How important do you think it is for musicians to have mentors?

It’s very important. Everyone needs guidance and needs to be able to hear it from someone with wisdom that’s been through it or been around it before. A lot of people would go crazy without having people to talk to that understand and can offer guidance.

In 2017 you released two full length projects, Light Skin Issues and A Genius Holiday. Which project do you think had the most impact on your fans? Why?

Definitely Light Skin Issues. It was the first full, well first body of work period that I had ever released. That was the beginning of everything for people to start knowing who I am and what I do. Also, because of such a strong name, I think that it ended being bigger than just the songs to my fans light skin issues is like a part of my brand its like one of my things.

“Cross Your Mind” is your latest single. Tell us about the production and what the song really means to you.

It means a lot to me. This is my first single that I released on all platforms and I just hit 100K streams collectively in a month and a half. It took me almost a year to get that on the Light Skin Issues project and this is only one song…So I know it’s growing!

Tell us about your EP that will be dropping at the end of this year and what we should expect.

Hahahaah…Expect flames on a totally different level that you can’t even imagine. I’m super excited. I seem to have tapped into another part of myself with these new records. Can’t wait for you guys to hear.
