With COVID restrictions slowly decreasing, expect to hear these 2020 songs in the club this summer

While 2020 was certainly no one’s favorite year, it was a brilliant year for music. And with amazing music, came a great need to dance to it in a club surrounding by a hundred sweaty strangers: something COVID just did not allow.

2020 was also the year of emerging artists such as Megan Thee Stallion cementing themselves as top musicians, and artists such as Lady Gaga proving they still have what it takes. And from Gaga to Megan, the club anthems were flowing.

Now that COVID restrictions are easing up and fully vaccinated individuals are permitted to be maskless, bars and clubs are opening up to play all of the songs we didn’t get to dance to back in 2020, and there are many…

Imagine you’re at the club and all of a sudden hear the words “Billboard baby, Dua Lipa make em’ dance when it come on.” Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” has taken the pop world by storm, as Lipa took home the award for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2021 Grammy’s for Future Nostalgia. “Levitating” is one of those perfect pop songs that are both catchy and mature, fun and historic. While it may not be the typical club synth vibe, “Levitating” is sure to take the clubs by storm this summer.

A song we all expect to hear in the club this summer is certainly Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B‘s collaboration, “WAP.” There will surely be no survivors, as the song was practically made for club play. Megan’s smart and catchy lyrics paired with Cardi B’s sass made for one of the wildest rap songs of 2020 and playing it in a club this summer should be a requirement.

Last but not least, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande‘s collaboration “Rain On Me” was the dance track of 2020, and it was lost to a year of quarantine. There is nothing quite like throwing your hands up and dancing to a Lady Gaga anthem, and “Rain On Me” is the perfect song to ring in summer 2021 and the return of live music and gatherings.
