Summer is Here: Here is What You Should be Listening to

Sarah Stukalin

Summer is finally here, and with sunshine, pool parties, and punch comes to a need for a new summer playlist. Here are three songs that you should definitely be listening to this summer.

“Crush” – Duckwrth

With a catchy beat behind it and fun lyrics, Duckwrth’s “Crush” is definitely a song you need on your playlist this summer. Gaining fame from appearing on the Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse soundtrack, Duckwrth proves that he is a force to be reckoned with on his own.

“In My Worried Mind” – The Burkharts

A family band out of Buffalo, NY, The Burkharts capture a Californian sixties Beach Boys-esque sound. “In My Worried Mind” is the perfect song for driving down the coastline or sipping a drink by the beach. Its delightful indie sound exudes summer and can whisk you away to a time of bell bottoms and lava lamps.

“Put Your Records On” – Ritt Momney

It’s everyone’s favorite classic song, but with an updated indie twist. It is difficult to do a class such as this one justice, but integrating it with his own sound and give it a slower, more melodic feel was the perfect formula for a cover. Perfect for a lazy day of laying in the sun, get ready to take a trip back in time as you listen to Corinne Bailey Rae reimagined.
